Saugus High School - Letter Sculptures
A unique and refreshing project challenging my and teams’ skills. A bold red color was the only color for this project.
Knowing the environment that it would live in; the core structure drove all the decisions. Cross tubing was placed in strategic areas welded across plates. Hand rolled and shaped letter profiles 36” deep was the work out of the year. But a tremendous satisfaction was felt when all the parts fitted in and it stood tall.
Challenged by the constrains of the pandemic, what was a strong team of many. Came down to a few to finish the project and see it through. With the goal being a seamless build, most of the hours went into bodywork and the many lessons learned!
